As a human with ADHD, the world tends to enter all at once, then refract out into various wavelengths of creativity. I spend time following fragments, from everyday mundanities to soul-level transformations, trying to shape the essence of seemingly disconnected things into meaningful metaphors and images. This is my ongoing thought gallery of light fragments I’m bending into artistic expression.

Hertz frequency
I’ve gotten into the calming benefits of listening to music in a specific hertz range. The standard bearer is 432 Hz, but I’ve learned that my sweet spot is 528 Hz. If you’ve been looking for ways to focus your attention and reduce stress, Miracle Tones (by Swedish composer and musician Timo Krantz) is an excellent place to start. Timo “creates meditative soundscapes promoting relief and affirmative freedom.”

Unlocking my breath
Like so many of us in the modern world, I hold tension at a cellular level. The stressors of living in a lightning-fast, hyper-connected world are no joke. I’ve tried yoga on and off for 25 years, but could never find my guide. I’m an introvert who has difficulty seeking solace in a group setting, so I took my quest to YouTube. After years of searching, I found my guide, Uliana. She has taught me how to find my breath, which is monumental in a journey that has had me grasping for it more often than not.

The art of Nick Cave
Seminal artist Nick Cave infused castes of his own body with nature, imagining a hopeful evolution in the face of oppression. Seeing his Amalgam (Plot) [shown above], with gardens growing around black bodies felled from violence has fueled my exploration of trauma and loss in a time of environmental crisis. I caught his latest at the gorgeous new home of the Jack Shainman Gallery.
